Fox Corporation, recognized for overseeing brands such as Fox News, Fox Sports, and Tubi Media Group, has unveiled a novel blockchain media platform named Verify. This platform is designed to facilitate content licensing agreements with AI companies, ensuring controlled usage of Fox Corporation’s intellectual property. Verify employs cryptographic signatures to meticulously track media content, thereby maintaining its integrity and authenticity.

This innovative initiative is a collaborative effort between Fox Corporation and Polygon Labs, a leading software development firm. The partnership aims to address the challenges posed by the proliferation of AI tools and AI-generated media, which often blur the lines between factual and fabricated content. Polygon Labs emphasized the critical need for a reliable method to verify the provenance and authenticity of media content, a gap that Verify aims to fill. Built on Polygon’s Proof of Stake (PoS) system, Verify represents a significant advancement in ensuring the credibility and trustworthiness of digital content.

Officially launched in its public beta phase on January 8, Verify offers a robust blockchain media platform for any media company to register various forms of content, ranging from articles to audio and images. These registered items are cryptographically signed on the Polygon PoS blockchain, enabling consumers to easily identify and trust content originating from credible sources. Since its launch, Verify has successfully integrated over 89,000 pieces of content from various Fox Corporation brands, marking a substantial milestone in its quest to revolutionize content verification in the digital age.
